Fall Frolic Auction

DECEMBER 6, 2023 UPDATE: Our online Fall Frolic auction has successfully raised $3,628 so far, and there’s more to come! A big thank you to our generous donors and auction participants. We’ll be continuing to auction off donated items, introducing a new set each week until December 16, 2023. Despite a few technical glitches, the first four weeks have run smoothly, and we’re now in our fifth week. We appreciate your understanding and patience! For any items left un-auctioned, the auction will be relaunched in Spring 2024.

Event ticket purchasers were given the option of a full refund, but instead, they chose a tax-deductible receipt for the ticket amount, contributing an additional $700 towards our goal! Those who bought tickets were also entered into a draw for the door prize. Congratulations to Robbie Redman, the winner of the Nutcracker Gift Basket!

Online auction items are posted weekly in sets on the Texada Swap and Shop, with bids closing on Thursdays at noon. Successful bidders are notified by Friday evening, and payment details for cheque, cash, or e-transfer are provided in private messages for convenient pickup.

Given low ticket sales and the seasonal rise in respiratory infections, we have decided to change the Fall Frolic auction scheduled for Saturday, November 4th to an online auction on Texada Swap n’ Shop. The in-person event is postponed. More details about the online auction to follow. 

TINSHS is concerned about the rising number of COVID and respiratory cases on Texada Island and in the region. We want to keep our seniors safe. During this time, an online auction seems like the best way to maximize the many amazing contributions of our generous donors.

If you purchased Fall Frolic tickets, please reconnect with us at (604)414-4485 or info.tinshs@gmail.com for a full refund. If you do not want your refund, TINSHS will give you a tax deductible receipt for the amount of your ticket. You will need to confirm your name and mailing address with us for the tax receipt.  Also, anyone who has purchased tickets, will have their names entered into a draw for the door prize as soon as all tickets are accounted for. Congratulations to Robbie Redman, winner of the Nutcracker Gift Basket!

Online Auction items will be posted for bids on the Texada Swap and Shop, weekly beginning Nov. 4th and then each Saturday after that (Nov.11th, Nov.18th, Nov. 25th, Dec.2nd and Dec.9th.).

Weekly item cut offs will be on the Thursday following their post (ie: Bidding for six items posted on Saturday, Nov.4th, bidding will be cut off on Thursday Nov.9th at noon. The next six items will be posted on Saturday, Nov.11th and bidding cut off on Thursday, Nov.16th at noon and so on.) 

Successful bidders will be notified by Friday evening of the same week. Payment can be made by cheque, cash or e-transfer, details in private message for pick up as well.
